Who we help  /  Coastal estates and communities
For private estates, developments and neighbours sharing a coast

Protect your shoreline and what it's worth

When the beach goes, so does the land, the access and the value. One CCell reef can protect several neighbouring frontages, so the cost and the benefit can be shared.

What you are losing

A little more every winter

1

Land and beach

Storms take sand and soft cliff, and the line gets closer to the house each year.

2

Access and enjoyment

Steps, paths and the beach you walk on wash away or become unsafe.

3

Value and insurance

Buyers and insurers notice when a property is losing ground to the sea.

Better together

One reef, several frontages

The sea doesn't stop at property lines, and neither does a reef. A single reef calms the water along a stretch of coast, so neighbours can protect more for less.

  • We map the shared coastlineYour shoreline check shows how far the problem runs and who it affects.
  • We help you make the caseA plain-English summary you can share with neighbours, a residents' association or the developer.
  • We can talk to the councilWhere public land or infrastructure is affected too, we can bring the authority in.

Evidence

Telchac: a community that saved its beach

The beach at Telchac Puerto had been losing sand for a decade, up to 5 m in a single year. In 2021, working with the property owners, fishers and the town's mayor, CCell installed more than 50 reef units in a barrier about 150 m long, protecting the shoreline in front of nine properties. One reef, shared by neighbours.

What else the reef brings

A shoreline with more life on it

Choose a reef over a wall and your stretch of coast gains something too.

Wildlife on your doorstepFish, crabs and shellfish move into the reef within months.
A beach, not a wallThe reef is underwater. You keep the view and the sand.
Something to shareA snorkel spot for family and guests, and a project the community can be proud of.
Watch it growRegular survey photos and reports so you can follow your reef as it grows.

Questions owners ask

The practical bits

Is this only for big estates?

A reef is a significant investment for one household. It works best for estates, developments or groups of neighbours.

Do we need permits?

Yes, and we handle them as part of the design stage.

What if a neighbour won't take part?

We can design for the frontages that do, and show what the others would gain by joining later.

Will it affect the beach next door?

Every design is modelled first, so we can show how it affects the coast either side.

How is it paid for?

In stages: a small commitment for survey and design, the main payment once permits are approved, and the balance on installation. Neighbours can share each stage.

What maintenance is needed?

Very little. Our control system flags any problem with an individual unit, and we look after inspections and repairs under a service contract.

How stable is your shoreline?

Tell us where you are. We will look at how the coast has changed, how exposed it is, and who else shares the problem.
