Dr. Will Bateman graduated from Imperial College, with a first class honours degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, followed by a PhD in extreme ocean waves. During his career, he has worked for General Dynamics, RMS and Lloyds register, in each case working in the numerical modelling of mechanical and natural systems. In 2012 he progressively started working on the technologies that now form CCell, which included the design of wave paddles to harness energy before extending the business in 2019 to develop reefs for coastal protection. Aside from managing the company, Will specialises in fluid-structure analysis of the reefs and design and assembly of CCell's power electronics system.
Away from work, Will interests and passions revolve around water sports (including kitesurfing and kayaking), cycle touring, hiking and adventure racing.
